Sonic Frontiers Fishing is a minigame that players can indulge in, and Sonic has also cited fishing as a method of "de-stressing." Like other games, such as Disney Dreamlight Valley, Sonic Frontiers also adopted the idea of implementing mini-games within a game.
🔥 New GIVEAWAY: 5.000 ROBUX 💎
Players will learn about fishing once they meet Big the Cat; a famous character in the Sonic franchise because of the humorous memes of him. Despite being a hated character in previous Sonic games, he has made his way into Sonic Frontiers, trapped in a cybernetic dimension.
If you travel through the Western Fishing Points Portal, you will also find Big!
You will have to find Big the Cat if you want to fish for some treasures and to get to one of the fishing spots, you will have to find one of the portals that take you to the fishing spot. Big will also be available at the fishing location. But to fish, you will need purple coins which you will have to exchange with Big so that he can lend you his extra fishing rod.
Key points
- You can borrow a fishing rod from Big the Cat for a purple coin.
- To fish, simply swing your rod into the pond and wait for a fish to take the hook.
- Once baited, a red circle will appear in the pond where the fish is, and you will have to wait for the white circle to overlap with the red one and immediately press the "Action button."
- You will find not only fish, but also other scrap materials, treasures and gold tokens.
- Exchanging these gold tokens with Big the Cat will give you numerous rewards.
- To exchange tokens for items listed in Big's item collection, speak to Big and select "Trade Tokens".
Sonic Frontiers Fishing Method
You can use Portals to travel through different stages in the Cyber Frontier. However, only Portal Gears will help activate them!
Best Builds in God of War Ragnarok [Top 8]You will not have any luck finding the fishing spots through the map, which is provided to you at the beginning of the game. Because the fog covers half of the map, you will have to participate in mini-game activities to prevent it from blocking some of the points on the map.
On another note, the map will show a variety of collectibles and their locations. You will have to find and collect them in any way. As for the fishing spot, you'll find it somewhere in the Kronos region, and by collecting some of the Chaos Emeralds, you'll also find your way tangled with Big the Cat!
You have to wait for the white ripple to overlap the red ripple!
If you've played Disney Dreamlight Valley before, you'll find fishing to be an easier task. It just requires you to cast your rod into the water and wait for the fish to take the bait. A red circle or ripple as described in Big will appear after you press the button A.
You will catch various items and types of fish at the fishing spot!
Another white wave will appear and start to get bigger. You will have to wait for it to go around the Red Circle to press the button again. button A. This will raise your rod quickly and launch the fish, or whatever you caught from the pond, into the air, followed by the revealed contents. Which in this case, will be a fish, a treasure chest, scrap material and many more.

Fishing spot on Kronos Island
Western Fishing Spot!
We previously discussed the western fishing spot on Kronos Island. That's where you'll find Big The Cat. To get to the location, you'll need to acquire the first Elder Koco, it will be signified by a big mouth on the map so you can quickly identify it. After picking up Elder Koco, head west and look for the Portal. It will be bluish in color!
Ares Island
Northern fishing spot!
The Fishing Portal on Ares Island will be a bit boring, however, you will notice purple lines on its walls. It will be difficult to reach this point on the map due to how isolated and separated it is from the rest of the land. There is two challenges which you can complete to access the northern fishing spot.
- M-042
- M-041
Chaos Island
Northeast Fishing Spot!
The third fishing point is on the southeast side of the island, again separated from the rest of the land, you will have to complete the puzzle M-068 which will also help you clear the foggy bits of the island!
Uranus Island
1st fishing place!
To clear most of the map on Uranos Island, you will have to complete the challenge M-082 which you will find near the south side of the island. Since there are two fishing spots here, and your map won't be clear, you'll have a hard time locating the spots.
2nd fishing place!
However, with each island, I have added pictures of the locations to help you identify all the fishing spots. On another note, you won't find any fishing spots in Rhea Island along with any challenge.
Rewards to obtain for trading fish
If you want to find out what Big has in his collection of items, select "Trade Listings".
Fishing in Sonic Frontiers is fun and, frankly, addictive too. You may find yourself enjoying the same activity for more than twenty minutes! While fishing, you will be able to catch scrolls such as the Scroll of Elder Koco and Hermit Koko's Scroll.
What are these scrolls for? If you catch these scrolls, you can unlock fast travel. It is a method of traveling using a Zip instead of rushing to a location.
I would recommend that players only trade gold cards for extremely expensive items that they actually need.
Other than that, Big will give you treasure tokens in exchange for fish. The letters of gold or gold tokens you have collected will be exchanged for some useful items such as Blue Seed of Defense, +20 Lost Koco, and Red Seed of Power.
Some items will cost more treasure tokens to purchase, such as the egg note!
Each of the items mentioned will cost one Gold Card and if you don't have any Gold Cards you can still purchase them with Treasure Tokens.
